Pastor Search Committee Update
April 12, 2015
I Corinthians 14:40 Let all things be done decently and
in order.
As the Lord leads, we hope to be voting on a new senior
pastor soon. You’ll have the opportunity to hear
him preach on a Sunday morning, meet him individually
and have time for questions and answers before
voting. When the dates and times are confirmed we’ll
be able to provide two weeks’ notice in advance of
these events. This is an opportune time to see what
the church bylaws say about this process:
“The pulpit committee shall prayerfully seek the man
of God’s will to serve the church as pastor. Having
agreed on a man the committee may invite him to
preach to the church. When the committee is fully
convinced that the right man has been found it may
nominate him to the church for election at a meeting
of which at least one week’s notice has been
given. The committee may present only one man at a
time. An affirmative vote of at least three-fourths of
those members present and voting shall be necessary
to call a pastor.”
